The “Fire-Master" is a watercraft that is built to fight fires and provide rescue services. This vehicle is capable of delivering high pressure water from offshore or pump water up to the land with the extended hose reel option to operate hydrant or water trucks. Utility and Stability The pontoon design provides greater flotation and a more stable platform and room to work. The large deck area provides ample space for firefighters and rescue workers to operate equipment and support rescue efforts easily and efficiently. Decking material may be selected based upon the desired use and necessary features. Typical options include non-skid diamond plate; non-skid treated marine grade plywood with vinyl surface, wood planking or other materials you may specify.
Customized cabins or canopies are available to provide a secure area for personnel and passengers. These cabins can be equipped to accommodate the firefighting and rescue efforts with all the necessary equipment to a meet the emergency. The railing can be set and formed to provide protection and safety and customized in a unique configuration for appropriate deck use and storage. Comfortable, contoured seating can be made in any length with a variety of covering options to fit the boat's operating environment Furthermore, seating may be designed to include integrated storage compartments with water tight or self draining
Console and Cabin Features Chinook consoles are built for durability and longevity. The consoles are made of marine grade aluminum and have heavy duty sealed switches that resist water intrusion and are fully customized to meet your specifications.
Pumps and plumbing The Chinook FireMaster is fully equipped and set up to handle any situation. Typical configurations include a forward mounted pump fully plumbed to draw water from a filtered outlet built into the rear of the pontoon. The pump may be set up to attack fires from the deck or attached to a hose and pumped to a hydrant location or water truck at another location on land.
Fully equipped The fire fighting system is integrated into a complete package. There are many options on the various sizes of pumps and water handling capabilities, nozzle types and sizes and other accessories depending on your requirements .
The Boat for Life The Chinook “FireMaster” boat may be specified in almost any size and weight with various weight ratings or flotation requirements. Typical sizes are in widths of 8' 6” to 10' and 22' to 26' long. The open flat deck surface is perfect for maintaining specialized equipment on board where it is convenient and accessible.
Greater Maneuverability The FireMaster is typically equipped with twin engines. This twin engine configuration provides greater control for all situations. By operating one engine in a forward mode while reversing the other, the boat can maneuver or spin around in extremely confined areas. The motors are further protected by being placed behind the pontoons which helps them to avoid contact with logs and debris. Also, the second engine provides a redundant fail safe system in the event of a motor failure or damage.
The “Fire-Master” pontoon boat is designed to be a reliable and durable fire fighting machine. Motors and configurations may be selected based upon the power, speed and maneuverability you need for your fire fighting requirements. For safety the fuel tanks may be integrated into the pontoon(s) along with other storage requirements as needed. An on-board portable fuel storage option is also available also.

The Chinook series pontoon platform has been customized as fire and work boats due to the reliability, stability and construction.
Chinook Superior design and construction Rugged and reliable, Chinook Series pontoon boats have been customized to work as fire boats as well as in marine construction, equipment transportation and many other applications. Chinook is a leader in the manufacture of pontoon work boats and barges. Chinook products are a result of years of design and manufacturing experience with hundreds of chinook pontoon boats still in service. Metalite has been providing the industry some of the most reliable and durable vessels found anywhere in the world. Our commitment to quality and durability is uncompromising. The pontoons are constructed from heavy duty Marine grade Aluminum in either .090”, .125” or .188” marine grade. This heavy-duty spec is more durable than what is required for typical safety standards.
These pontoons are then filled with United States Coast Guard approved “closed cell” polyurethane foam. This foam adds both strength and rigidity to prevent pontoon damage or water ingress. This provides for sustained flotation regardless of any impact or damage to the exterior of the aluminum pontoon shell.
The pontoon style is a shallow “V” hull that provides for faster planing. This design can also feature a heavy prow plate to facilitate easy and shore landings.

Metalite uses the most durable high quality pontoon material. Each pontoon shell is made of 5000 series Marine grade aluminum in either .125” or .188” material. The aluminum sheets are configured to Metalite's strict design standards. These standards are based upon 20 years of knowledge and manufacturing experience in pontoon and pontoon hull design. The assembled pontoon shells are pressurized to insure a complete and solid watertight seal
Individual stringers span the boat to provide superior strength. These spans can be either 2” tube or 5” C channel set at 12”or 16” centers. This construction insures a secure and structurally sound bond between the decking and the pontoon structure.
Integrated Design, Features and Customized Solutions Metalite offers the design and manufacturing expertise to provide the exact solution to meet your needs. The variety of integration can occur above the deck or below the deck.
A compartment recess can be built into the custom pontoon to allow for additional storage, fuel tanks, batteries and other electro-mechanical parts and equipment. This improves the utility of the upper deck and adds to the storage capacity of the boat.
The hatch area can house many different items and including an integrated fuel tank with an electrical gauge. The sub-surface recess area can be finished to match the deck material and design. In this case, the fuel tank has a flush mount spout with a lock lid and cap.
Exterior Mechanical Features Accessories, Seats and Compartments The outfitting of the Chinook FireMaster product line includes customer defined deck rails, storage compartments, command station seating, ladders and any other options which may be appropriate for your specific needs. .
Any of the Chinook boats can be customized to accommodate various storage size requirements and locations for life jackets, buoys or other firefighting and rescue equipment.
Optional seating and Console Arrangements The seating arrangement can be set up in virtually any configuration to accommodate the optimal floor plan for the your specific application. The seats can be finished in upholstery or with optional fabric, composite material or marine carpet or decking. The console is laid out with a standard set of gauges and controls .
Pontoon Transom Configurations and Mounts
Heavy duty bulkheads separate the motor pods from the pontoon main section. This design feature insures a durable transom bracket to secure mounting and handling of the outboard motor and controls without compromising the integrity and strength of the pontoon construction itself.
These rugged boats can accommodate virtually any of the various outboard motors in various sizes. The optimal placement of the motor behind the pontoon provides an excellent contact with the water and avoids center cavitation problems.
Custom ladders can be installed in any of a number of places in front or behind the boat. These ladders may be set up and configured for specific placement and use.

The Chinook Pontoon boat can be purchased with a dedicated trailer built to match the design. The trailer can provide for easy loading and unloading and will be constructed by Metalite’s TRAC PAC trailer division to insure proper design and weight carrying capability.
